Comets Visit the Norton Simon Museum

This past month, the History and Art departments collaborated on a joint field trip to the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. With the guidance of Dr. Kinman, Ms. Ruiz, and Mr. Daniel, students in AP World History and AP Art History participated in the field trip. Students viewed galleries from Medieval to Modern art. AP World History in particular focused on pieces from the Renaissance to Baroque time periods. AP Art History students observed pieces that were aligned to the Art curriculum. They then analyzed the art by making comparisons to the style and visual characteristics found within each piece of art. Students were able to enjoy the outdoor gardens, have lunch on the patio, and meet lots of friendly community museum guests.
