Horizontal Comet Art Exhibit

In an effort to promote a greater understanding of art, Art teacher Ms. Ruiz, along with studio assistant Daniel Pedroarias, has emboldened students in her art classes to embrace their love of art. She has aimed to provide her students with opportunities to feel more empowered throughout their creative process. She has also championed our Comet Creatives, a club initiated by students interested in pursuing art as a form of expression. Comet Creatives has provided a space for our Comets to embrace their artistic talents and passions. It has also provided students with a platform where they can explore and cultivate their skills, while proudly displaying their artwork to others.

This year, we are pleased to announce that we will be having a Comet Art Exhibit where artists from Comet Creatives and art classes will exhibit their artwork. We will be joined by Artist Richard Aguilar. Richard has been a constant supporter and advocate of our art program. He has shared his experience as a practicing artist, and has imparted his knowledge and expertise to our students in an effort to reveal the possibilities of art.

The event will not only highlight work that our Comets have done throughout the year, but it will also include a preview of Miracles on Mozart, a project which will be fully unveiled in August 2023. We are also pleased to showcase artwork from students who are part of our first Onward Scholars cohort.

We are proud of all of the hard work our Comets have made, and we are even more eager to share that with our larger community. We welcome all alumnae, family, and friends of Sacred Heart to join us as we celebrate our artists. The Comet Art Exhibit will take place on Sunday, May 21st at 4pm. We will be serving light refreshments; come for the refreshments, stay for the artwork! See the attached flier for more information about the event.
