Comets took to the road on October 23rd for their annual Northern California college tour. Along with Director of College Guidance, Mr. Navarrete, and Director of Onward Scholars, Ms. Funes, Comets were also joined by students and faculty from Saint Mary’s Academy. Together they toured six campuses and were able to get resources available to incoming Freshmen. Students explored dorming options and learned about financial aid packages that may be available to them. They also had the opportunity to visit campus bookstores and purchase merchandise. Sacred Heart students really enjoyed all six campuses, however, there was a special affinity with UC Berkeley and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo as students were able to meet with SH alumni. In fact, one of their tour guides was recent Sacred Heart alumna, Alyssa Rivera ‘22.
Overall, students were highly engaged and were active in asking questions that pertained to their future college experience. Any students who would like to attend next year’s trip should speak with either Mr. Navarrete or Ms. Funes.
